T-cell: A type of white blood cell that is involved in the body's immune response.
tolerance: Condition in which a person must keep increasing the dosage of a drug to maintain the same effect.
 
topical corticosteroids: Medication that is applied directly to the skin in order to suppress inflammation. Corticosteroid medicines are derivatives of the natural corticosteroid hormones that are produced by the adrenal glands.
 
topical hydrocortisone: Medication that is applied directly to the skin to reduce allergy symptoms. Hydrocortisone lessens the body's response to an allergen, reducing swelling, redness, itching and other symptoms.
 
urticaria: See Hives.
 
vasodilation: The dilation of blood vessels, which leads to increased blood flow.
