Is the anything I can do with my 14k white gold wedding ring so I can continue to wear it without it affecting my skin?

I have a sever infection on my finger and my doctor has told me that I cannot wear my wedding ring anymore. I have wore it for two years and just the last couple of weeks it has affected me. I have a steriod cream to take of that but I can't not wear my wedding ring. Please help me!
